Solemnity of Christ the King

Sunday,26th November marks the celebration of the Solemnity of Christ the King as the liturgical year
nears its end. In Matthew 25:31-46, in contemplating the final judgement, Jesus uses the metaphor of a shepherd
separating sheep and goats. The parable emphasizes the characteristics that please Him, portraying sheep as
obedient and goats as stubborn and wicked.

Jesus intends to guide humanity toward true happiness, as reflected in His teachings from the Beatitudes
to the parable’s conclusion. The essence of God’s good news is happiness, inviting all to enter the joy of the
Father’s kingdom. Ultimately, Jesus came to teach us the path to happiness and lead us to eternal joy in heaven.
