Topic : New Life
Jesus’ baptism in the Jordan is the beginning of His mission. St. John said that He came not by water only, but by water and blood. Through baptism, Jesus is going forward towards the passion. By his death on the cross where the lance pierced his heart, water and blood flowed out which became the sacrament of our salvation. So through baptism, we receive new life and enjoy the life that God has given us. But we have to bear in mind that we too will bear the cross. As I had mentioned before, the cross is not a cross of suffering at all, but it is the cross of love for the world. When Jesus died on the cross, it is for the love of the world. We too are to bear the cross of love. As we are baptised in him, we also rest in him. So this is our life, especially as legionaries, we are not afraid because Mary who received the same invitation from God, and in her destination to be with her son, cooperated with him for the salvation of all mankind. So we as legionaries, are also called, especially with love and humility, with the Holy Spirit that always accompany us to help us carry out this mission with strength and power. So let us trust the Holy Spirit to guide us as we go on our way especially this New Year, to be filled with power, to listen and love, and to continue his work in this world. Amen.
